Please can you confirm that if my TV signal is off Reigate will my Freeview support Sky Sports 1&2 on BT Vision. Thanks

Jack Gaffney: I have no idea where you get your TV signal from as I, like others on here, aren't psychic!
The Sky Sports channels are not available from all transmitters, but they are available if you can receive the COM6 multiplex which carries Film4, 4Music, Yesterday and others. So if you have these, then you will have Sky Sports (subject to required subscription).
If you are missing COM6 (or COM4 or COM5) you may be able to receive them with a different aerial, or, you may not be served in your area.
For a full list of digital terrestrial TV services by multiplex (e.g. PSB1, COM6 etc), see:
DTG :: DTT Services by Multiplex
Reigate is a full service transmitter (carries PSBs and COMs), but a replacement aerial "may" be needed to receive all channels without which only the PSBs are received.

I use the Reigate transmitter as I am in the shadow of Reigate hill. My Freeview reception is fine but my FM radio reception has been poor for some time, especially R4. I have to switch to mono now. I have an FM halo ariel on my Freeview TV mast. Can anyone advise how to check whether there are problems with the Reigate FM repeater? FM was fine 6 months ago.

Martin Holland: There is no Radio 4 transmitter at Reigate.
What frequency are you tuned to?

Martin Holland: R4 is tuned to 93.5 Mhz. Reception seems OK during the day but gets noisy during the late afternoon. I have to switch to mono about 15:30 - 16:30. R3, Classic FM and other FM stations are OK all the time. R4 used to be the most reliable signal. If all my FM stations were bad I'd get a new aerial but it is only R4. I'm perplexed.

Martin Holland: You are tuned to Wrotham. Looking at your location, the only other transmitter that might serve you is Guildford - I say might as I'm not familiar with the area, although with a roof-top aerial you might be able to receive something that a set-top won't.
Frequencies for BBC national FM transmitters are here:
BBC - Help receiving TV and radio - Transmitters
Guildford doesn't broadcast Classic, so you will probably only get it on 100.9 from Wrotham.
Is there something close to you in the direction of Wrotham such as a building or tree? If it's a directional aerial then it probably could do with pointing ENE-wards to Wrotham rather than at the Reigate transmitter - this could be your issue if it does point in the wrong direction.
If it is an omni-directional vertical dipole then be aware that the mast it is mounted on is likely to screen the signal a bit (cause a null). Make sure that it isn't in the direction you're trying to receive from.

I get frequent picture break up and freeze on Freeview BBC channels 1,2,and 80 and it is particularly bad today. All other channels are trouble free.I experience this with two different set top boxes including a BT Vision box which messages Freeview signal poor or of low quality. 50 yards away on a line with my roof top aerial and the transmitter is a large tree on public land. Please advise possible action.
